This is Abhinit Poddar, an art and design student living in the outskirts of Delhi. I am a son of a migrant who came to Delhi from a remote village in Rajasthan to earn a better living. My father knows the importance of a good education and a mentor, both of which he lacked in his early life. As a result, I was always taught to put education first. What led me to pursue painting was that i found a way to relieve myself of my thoughts ans anxiety onto a blank canvas. I like to work and experiment with different mediums and genres of art. I mostly spend my time painting, illustrating. I like my work to resonate with my views on social, political, and cultural aspects of my origin and country empathetically. I am an art history buff and a history enthusiast in general. History inspires me a lot, helps me learn about my ancestor’s struggles, their resilience, and what they did for me to experience the world I live in.
