As a mother and an artist I am always being tugged in two different directions. Well, atleast that's what I thought! While motherhood always plies for the front seat, its almost impossibile to contain the artist for too long. I soon realised that the new, wild passion I now feel for my work is greatly inspired by my little one. The bright colors on my canvas are a way to bring out and serenade joy and colours my little boy brings in my life. The mother and the artist are almost always fueling each other.

My training in art was at SNDT Mumbai Women's University. I started my career as a web designer, but after many years left the digital art medium to come back to my true calling of creating art by hand and started working as a professional artist. My work is primarily abstract, minimalist and frequently includes dynamic, fluid movements and color accents. The idea is to express an emotion or feeling on canvas with a flow of colours, random brushstrokes to create forms, shape formation out of fluid art, recreate nature with my hands.

What I love and live for is the complete unknown while creating art. Every new painting starts and ends in a way that is surprising even for me. It’s always wonderful to combine different materials, color types and mediums. I attempt to push myself to create a unique spatial composition, unlikely color combinations, strokes and color flows that are visually stimulating. I also try to celebrate nature through my art. Using contrasting colors, movement of brush strokes, layering of colours, dripping, pouring and splashing - all are facets that are inspired by observing Nature. Painting gives me a deep inner peace and hopefully will evoke a similar sense of personal meaning to the viewer as well.
