I am a visual artist who was born, and currently based in Nigeria. I studied Multimedia Design and Technology at University.
Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. During my early childhood, I constantly replicated drawings from my favourite cartoons, random magazines and newsprint to pass time. I progressed as I got older to painting using poster paints, and then subsequently acrylics. Art gave me a sense of purpose, excitement, and a means of creating conversations. While in university, a foray into other forms of artistic expression (such as graphic/multimedia design, and photography) further informed and shaped my art practice and style.
I draw inspiration from things around me - people, nature, and my experiences of living. I am currently particularly interested in pursuing emotional affinity through the eyes of the black female.
I continuously experiment with materials and processes, and actively seek out opportunities to develop, explore new ground, acquire new skill and advance my art career.
I have participated in various group exhibitions, one of which was an exhibition in 2019 hosted by the British High Commissioner in Nigeria (Ms Catriona Laing, CB) to mark the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II where I was one of four selected artists. My works are held in several private and corporate collections.
